Your SRS module will then need to be removed and sent to us.
This service is for resetting the airbag or SRS (Supplemental Restraint System) control module.
We clear the crash data that is stored after an airbag deployment or accident event, allowing the module to be reused as per factory specifications without needing replacement.
    Service Includes:
  • Full crash data removal
  • Diagnostic check of internal memory
  • Verification of successful reset on bench test
  • 💡 Note: This is a reset-only service of CrashData only, If the module has hardware damage or communication faults, the SRS module will need to be replaced or further diagnostics needed for wiring, airbag or sensor faults.
Once installed back into vehicle, a scan tool may be needed to clear any faults created during installation.
Airbag module crash data is a permanent digital record of a vehicle collision stored within the Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) or Restraint Control Module (RCM). Often referred to as the car's "black box," this data is critical for accident investigation and system safety.

    Types of Stored Data
When an impact is detected, the module instantly captures specific parameters, including:
  • Collision Details: Speed at impact, force (G-force), and direction of the collision.
  • Vehicle Performance: Throttle position, engine RPM, and brake usage.
  • Safety Status: Whether airbags deployed, seatbelt tensioner activity, and seat occupancy.

  • Impact on Vehicle Operation
  • System Locking: Once crash data is recorded, the module typically "locks," preventing the airbag system from functioning again until the data is cleared or the module is replaced.
  • Warning Lights: A persistent airbag or SRS warning light will remain on the dashboard, which cannot be cleared with a standard scan tool.
  • Starting Issues: In some modern vehicles, such as certain Mercedes-Benz models, stored crash data can prevent the engine from starting.

  • Reset and Repair Services
While dealerships often recommend replacing the entire module at a high cost, specialised services can reset the module to factory (virgin) state.
Clearing Methods: Professionals use advanced tools programmers to reflash the original factory code.
We offer mail-in reset services for a fraction of the cost of a new unit. No coding required.
(a Scan tool may be needed to reset any faults created during reassembly)

Safety Note: A reset should only be performed after all deployed components (airbags, seatbelts, sensors) have been replaced with genuine parts.

An ABS / SRS and /or ESC Declaration can be provided by request(Auckland Only)
This service is accepted for Repair Certification by a Repair Certifier.

With an SRS light on, your vehicle WILL fail a Warrant Of Fitness and is Not Safe to drive.
